Apple certainly has a large marketplace. They pride their commercials and advertisements on their App Store with the memorable quote “there’s an app for that.” While there is a team to make sure suitable content is added to the Apple App Store, not ever application is passed to be intended for a certain age group. This is where parents come into play and make sure the applications their child is downloading or playing is appropriate for them. Though to make those issues a bit more straightforward, Apple has a new store update in which they applications will show an age rating.
There’s a ton of great applications for all different age groups though some may be based on a certain age limit. This can be a pain for parents not realizing what their child is actually playing but instead of going through the store and accepting the application on the device, Apple has made these decisions easier to manage. Media has all sorts of different ratings to showcase an age limit such as movies, music and video games but mobile devices have yet to showcase much of a rating system.
Apple has added a new update to their application store showcasing ratings. These ratings will showcase the ideal age limit in which the application is suitable for children. The age rating will be showcased on the application page next to the developers name and company. However, it’s still the parents choice in which applications are available for their children.
